I routinely walk to and along the bank of the Charles River, sometimes crossing one of the bridges, especially Longfellow Bridge. Here is a small collection of photos from those walks, together with a few videos. [Videos should be viewed on a laptop or desktop.]

Head of the Charles Regatta, October 2024

The shells in the regatta do not directly race against each other, although it looks like they are in several of the videos. They are racing against the clock. Each shell is indidividually timed from starting line to finish line. The course this year was about 3.5 miles (5.63 km) along the river. [Note that the server may be slow in initially providing the videos, but that once available, they appear to run normally. Apologies for occasional thumbs intruding.]
